Many of our patients find that they notice results from the tooth whitening treatments very quickly, within the first few days of using take home whitening or from one appointment of in-office power bleaching. However, the rate at which teeth whiten differs from patient to patient and some patients may find that a longer treatment time may give them better results, sometimes from 2-6 weeks or multiple in-office appointments. For severe staining such as tetracycline antibiotic staining sometimes this can take even longer, from 2-6 months or more. Once the teeth have reached the desired level of whitening, or they have reached their maximum level of whitening and stop whitening any further, then you should stop your tooth whitening treatment. For patients who require tooth whitening for extended periods of time, top-up whitening material can be purchased as required.
